Former English footballer Troy Deeney has praised Thomas Partey’s versatility following the player's outstanding performance for Arsenal in their win over AS Monaco in the UEFA Champions League.
Deeney remarked that Partey is the kind of player football enthusiasts appreciate having on their team.
“He steps in, and every time they ask him to play right-back, he does a good job and doesn’t let the team down. He is the type of person you’d be really grateful for in your team,” Deeney said on SkySports.
Thomas Partey played as a right-back for Arsenal in the absence of Ben White and due to the manager’s decision to rest Jurrien Timber.
Partey filled the void seamlessly, a position he has played several times in his career, as the Gunners secured a clean sheet in their 3-0 victory.
The Ghanaian midfielder ended the game with a 7.4 rating, the fourth-highest by an Arsenal player.
