President Nana Akufo-Addo has expressed sadness about the death of former Black Stars striker, Manuel Junior Agogo.
Mr. Agogo passed on at age 40 on Thursday, August 22, 2019.
Even though his family has been tight-lipped about the cause of his death, DGN Online suspects he may have died from stroke.
He was hit with stroke about five years ago and has been battling the disease since.
Recently, he appeared to have recovered from the ailment, as he posted a video of himself in which he was seen dancing.
Mr. Agogo came to the limelight during the 2008 AFCON which Ghana hosted.
He scored the winning goal in Ghana’s 2-1 victory over the Super Eagles of Nigeria during that tournament.
President Akufo-Addo posted on his official Facebook page: “…saddened by the news of the death of former Black Stars Striker, Junior Agogo.”
According to the President “he (Agogo) was a fine footballer, and was always proud to represent our nation.”
” My sincere condolences to his family. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” Mr. Akufo-Addo said
