Accra Hearts of Oak current team will play the 2000 Champions League-winning squad on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, and coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi is excited for the opportunity to meet the legends who made history in Ghana’s club football.

Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi was appointed in October last year to replace Herbert Addo as the substantive head coach after previously replacing him with Edward Ansah ad later Vanli Can on an interim basis.

The Japanese-American trainer has struggled to amass general support from Accra Hearts of fraternity and even board member Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe who initially backed his appointment has called for his sacking.

The club has endured a torrid pre-season, but former Aspire Academy players development coach, who believes he will win the league and FA Cup come the end of this season insist the team is improving every day under his tutelage.

“I am looking forward to this Sunday’s international friendly match vs Nigeria Premier League side Ifeanyi Ubah,” Kenichi Yatsuhashi took to social media platform, Facebook to express his anxiousness.

He added “But more excited about playing against our former players from year 2000, CAF Champion! A lot of respect for the great [players].”

Accra Hearts of Oak will also play Ifeanyi Ubah as they put final touches to the team ahead of the new premier league season.
