Hearts of Oak’s CEO Fred Crentsil has declared Mahatma Otoo is not for sale but says the club will still entertain offers for their lead striker.

Crentsil’s response has been necessitated following Asante Kotoko’s confirmation they will be tabling an audacious bid to sign the 20-year-old.

Kotoko’s stunning revelation of their intent to sign the 2011 All Africa Games top goal scorer and gold medalist comes off the heels of another huge revelation that they are in talks to sign exciting forward Uriah Asante who had just completed a loan spell with the Phobians.

But Crentsil insists Otoo remains a big part of Hearts’ plans for next season but adds it doesn’t stop clubs from making offers for him – opening a slim window of opportunity for the materialization of what will certainly be the biggest local transfer this post-season.

“Dr. Sarpong called me yesterday over the prospect of signing Mahatma Otoo but I told him clearly that the player is not available for transfer,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“It however doesn’t stop Kotoko or any other club for that matter from making offers.

“If they (Kotoko) write to us, we will access it, confer with the player if he really wants to leave Hearts of Oak before arriving at a final decision.

“But at this point I doubt if Mahatma (Otoo) is ready to leave Hearts.”

Kotoko are looking to build a solid team for their Premier League defence next season where they will also be making a return to continental competition in the Champions League after a four year absence.

Hearts on the other hand are also looking to strengthen to wrestle the league title from their arch rivals and a are thus well bent on retaining their best players.
