The Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak has mandated Chairman Togbe Afede to take over the day-to-day running of the club until a new Chief Executive Officer is appointed after three months, footy-Ghana.com can confirm.

Hearts have been without a Chief Executive for a couple of months now after the recently appointed Ghana Football Association vice president Fred Crentsil refused to renew his mandate after two years of service to the Oak tree.

Administrative manager Ashford Tetteh Oku was then elevated to the General Manager position where could handle the role but only resigned from the club last Monday.

This called for a look at the new situation facing the club at Friday’s board meeting, footy-Ghana.com can confirm.

The board concluded on making it Chairman Togbe Afede take an acting role as the Chief Executive Officer for the next three months.

“The board last night decided that our chairman acts as CEO for three months,” Hearts of Oak’s Public Relations Officer Muheeb Saeed briefly confirmed to footy-Ghana.com

Also at the board meeting, footyGhana can confirm the club has finally settled on appointing coach David Duncan as the new gaffer of the side. The board Chairman and CEO Togbe Afede will by the close of this weekend conclude negotiations with the former AshantiGold coach before making an announcement to the public.
