ACCRA, Ghana (PANA) - Defending champions Accra Hearts of Oak remained lonely at the top of Ghana's premier football league this week, when they stretched their lead to 12 points with a 2-1 win over Hasaacas Sunday.

Hearts have one game in hand and are cruising comfortably to another league trophy. Their closet rivals, Accra Great Olympics, were beaten 2-1 by Power FC, sending them further down to the third place on 41 points, the same as Okwawu who have moved to second place after their 2-0 home win against All Blacks club.

Hearts received a shock when Hasaacas scored the first goal in the fifth minute through Nana Adarkwah.

However, the jubilation of Hasaacas was short lived as Osmanu Amadu drew level for Hearts two minutes later.

Sani Wahab made victory certain for Hearts when he converted a 76th-minute spot kick for the match winner.

In Kumasi, King Faisal routed Kumasi Asante Kotoko 3-1 in their local derby played at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.

At Tema, bottom club Afienya United and visiting Real Tamale United settled for a blank draw.
