Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko are seeking to better Hearts of Oak's offer to sign former Atletico Madrid striker Saddick Adams from Berekum Chelsea.
Hearts of Oak have already had a whopping GHS150,000 rejected by the Brong Ahafo-based side.
Kotoko were put on alert to tempt the cash-strapped Chelsea with a counter-offer believed to be in the region of GHS165,000.
But Chelsea have reportedly rejected the offer too.
Reports from Accra and Kumasi suggest both Hearts and Kotoko are keen to improve their bid to lure Chelsea to sell the former Ghana U20 attacker.
Hearts' board chairman Togbe Afede XIV is expected to pump more cash to increase Hearts' bid to GHS180,000.
Hearts coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi has sanctioned Hearts' move to sign the striker as he seeks to bolster his frontline with more ammunition.
Togolese forward Foovi Aguidi who is regarded as first-choice striker has dropped down the pecking order with Cosmos Dauda taking the mantle to score 5 goals in 13 appearances.
Selassie Adjei is expected to be offloaded to make space for a new striker's arrival.
Kotoko on the other hand is close to securing a return for former Red Star Belgrade former Nathaniel Asamoah but want to add Adams to their squad to bolster their title winning prospect.
