Accra, Ghana (PANA) - Accra Hearts of Oak maintained their comfortable lead in Ghana's Premier Football League despite being held to a 2-2 draw by city rivals, Great Olympics, in their match played Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts had to come back from a 2-0 deficit to clinch a draw that gave them 43 points compared with 36 by second placed Goldfields who lost 0-1 to Liberty Professionals.
Olympics' newly recruited striker Kwame Ali found the net in the fourth and 16th minutes to unsettle Hearts.
But in the 28th minute, Dan Quaye's long drive went off his body into the net for Hearts' first goal. Osumanu Amadu levelled up matters for Hearts in the 38th minute when he collected Fameyeh's through ball and delivered a left- footer into the roof.
Meanwhile, in Kumasi, King Faisal beat Sekondi Hasaacas 1-0 with striker Kwadwo Anane heading past goalkeeper Owusu in a goal-mouth action in the 51st minute.
At Cape Coast, Bofoakwa Tano were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs.
At Koforidua, Kumasi Asante Kotoko beat Power F/C 1-0 with Kotoko scoring the lone goal in the 83rd minute through substitute Awudu Adama.
