Accra Hearts of Oak are in the process of submitting a request to the Confederation of African football to ask for a seven-day extension to the deadline given for clubs to confirm their participation in next year?s continental assignments.

CAF has issued an ultimatum to all clubs taking part in Africa to confirm their participation by the end of today or face elimination from the respective competitions.

With the club cash strapped and having to offload a debt of about seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars, out-going Board Chairman, Ato Ahwoi stated during the club?s congress last Saturday that it will be advisable if they withdraw from the competition and concentrate on solving their financial problems but it has now come out that the phobian club have decided to take part in the competition.

The Board of Directors have revealed that an appeal has been prepared to be sent to CAF as soon as possible to ask for a seven-day extension to the deadline as it will offer the club ample time to organise itself ahead of the CAF Champions league.

Meanwhile, contrary to earlier media reports that a Board Chairman for the club will be named by the end of this week, it has come out that the decision has been shelved till next week Monday.

The meeting next week will also decide on the Board Secretary as well as the substantive Chief Executive Officer of the club.
