The vice president of the Ghana FA, George Afriyie, has backed Accra Hearts of Oak to win the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League.
Hearts of Oak began their league campaign on a bright note, having won their first two games against New Edubiase and Medeama SC respectively.
The Rainbow Club last Sunday showed great character to break the jinx in Tarkwa with a 2-0 triumph over Medeama and the feat has convinced Afriyie to predict the Phobians will capture the league title.
“When they appointed him, there were lot of noises. I called some of my journalist friends to water down on their criticism. I told them it was too early to criticize the man”, he told Starr Sports.
“Now from what he is doing and with the support of the Japanese community in Ghana, trust me I tip Hearts of Oak to win the league crown”, he added.
Hearts last won the league title in 2008 and will be hoping to secure a third successive win when they take on Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast on Sunday.
