Hearts of Oak coach Kenichi Yastuhashi says his squad is not in a good shape ahead of the 2016 Ghalca G6 tournament slated for January 7.

The 46-year-old joined the Accra-based side in November on a two-year deal but reports in the local media suggest his employers are not pleased with his debut, following the Phobians’ poor performance in pre-season friendly matches, and have issued a warning to him to win the G6 tournament.

“My team is not ready for the Ghana Premier League as well as the upcoming Ghalca G-6 tournament,” Yatsuhashi was quoted as saying by Footballcrusader.

“We are still trying to get the team together since there are new players who, after several training sessions and friendly games, are gradually getting to know each other. Hearts will certainly honour the invitational tournament but I must say that the cohesion is not there,” he added.

Hearts lost 5-0 on aggregate to Al Ahli Tripoli in two international friendlies played in Libya last month and also suffered a 4-1 drubbing against Wafa.

They have been drawn against Aduana Stars and Medeama in Group A of the G6 tournament with matches expected to be honoured at the Esipong Sports Stadium in Sekondi-Takoradi.

Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea and Ashantigold have been pitted in Group B.
