Accra, Oct 14, GNA - Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has announced a change of the date of its Congress from November 19 to 26, after a joint meeting with the Council of Patrons and the Board Directors of the club.

The change has been necessitated following a clash in the original date with that of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who are also scheduled to hold their Congress on November 19. A statement signed by Messrs C.K. Dewornu and Ernest Thompson on behalf of the Council of Patrons and Board of Directors respectively said the decision was to allow members of the club who are also members of the NPP to participate in the latters programme. The statement said the venue of the Congress would however be announced soon and then the formal notice of the Congress would be issued.

It said under the Club's rules of incorporation, the Constitution of the Club recognises two members; National and Chapter Members. The statement said consequently, all National and Chapter Members who intend attending the Congress shall pay 500,000 cedis each as subscription and accreditation fees.

The statement explained that members who have already paid the initial fees of 200,000 and 300,000 cedis would now only have to pay the difference to make up for the agreed fee.

It added that payments should be made directly to the secretariat of the club at Adabraka, Accra and each Chapter is to present three members, who shall have the right to vote on issues on behalf of their Chapter.
