Hearts deny Stanbic Bank deal

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Limited, has denied media reports that, the club has signed a deal with Stanbic Bank International, to sponsor the building of 20,000 seater sports stadium, as part of the Pobiman Project.

In an interview with the GNA Sports, Mr Kwame Opare Addo, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the club said, there was no agreement between the club and the Bank, as was reported in the media.

"There is no proposal from Stanbic Bank to the club, to sponsor the Pobiman Project, so there is no truth in the news circulating that, we have had agreement with the Bank to build Stadium for the club," he said.

He added that, the management of Hearts of Oak had not had any form of discussion with Stanbic Bank to finance the club in the Pobiman project, though the bank were their bankers.

He said, "Hearts is a great club and for that matter, the management of the club led by Mr Mark Noonan is putting good things in place to ensure that the club will have good training facilities that would meet international standards.

Mr Addo said, the players and the management were very pleased with the work of the new coach, Kim Grant, adding that, they were ready to give him the necessary support.

"The management of is very happy with the work of the new coach and we are ready to assist him in terms of player recruitment to bring the team to its glory days," he said.

It would be recalled that there were media reports, that Stanbic Bank International was to finance the club in the ongoing Pobiman project by building 20,000 capacity Stadium for the club and as part of the deal, the company would take 20% of gate proceeds for 10 years and alsoowned the naming right of the stadium.
