Accra Hearts of Oak have insisted that Nebojsa Vucicevic's immediate future is not under threat but expect a top four finish.

The club's chief executive Fred Crentsil dismissed fan complaints that the coach should be sacked ahead of the start of the new season on Sunday following the club's 3-1 loss to rivals, Asante Kotoko in the pre-season Super Two meeting at the Acca Sports Stadium.

The loss has raised tensions among fans, with Vucicevic under pressure as he prepares the Phobians for their opening day fixture away to Berekum Arsenal in Cape Coast.

Crentsil says the club is not contemplating any knee-jerk reactions.

"I got a lot of calls asking to sack the coach but there is no way that would happen. We are sticking by him. Mistakes were made in that game but we are running a program and as far we are concerned there is no reason to panic yet," Crentsil told TV3 on Wednesday.

The Hearts CEO explains that even though they are keen on the title, Vucicevic has been set a minimum target of a top finish.

"Ideally we want to win the league title because this is our centenary year but we are realistic. We will be happy with a to four finish a least," he added.
