Boastful new Hearts of Oak trainer Sergio Traguil has swiftly taken a U-turn after the side’s 1-1 stalemate with Liberty Professionals saying he never said he would play ‘tiki-taka’ with the team.
The new Portuguese Mourinho in his first interaction with the Ghanaian media promised to transform the team to play the best of football in the country and on the continent.
He made reference to former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola, saying he will transform the play of the club to depict the tiki-taka days of the Spanish giants.
“I am referred to as the New Mourinho in Portugal, but I play like Pep Guardiola. I will transform the play of Hearts, and we will play the tiki-taka football in the country. All the fans will notice the new Hearts of Oak,” Sergio said in his first media interview.
But after a disappointing show against Liberty Professionals at the Accra Stadium on Wednesday, Sergio Traguil has taken a bow.
“I never said I’ll play tiki-taka. I only said we need to work hard. That is the only thing we need to do if we want to change so many things,” Sergio said in the post-match presser.
“I never promised anything like tiki-taka. I only promised hard work,” he added.
Despite dropping two points in the Liberty clash, Hearts are still third on the Ghana Premier League table.
