“Money answereth all things but money is not the answer to everything”, a quote either Biblical or from the opinions of men.

The never ending problems currently bedevilling Ghana’s premier club, Accra Hearts of Oak, seem to be compounding. A section of the club’s supporters and a number of members of the old management are up in arms with the current board and management.

The western Regional Chapters Committee, a section of the club’s supporters fired the first salvo over the weekend, by calling on the current board chairman, Tobge Afede XIV, to vacate his post. Another supporter’s wing, calling itself PROJECT PHOBIA, will hold a press conference tomorrow, November 24, to speak on the current happenings of the club and suggest the way forward.

Many supporters of the club are of the view that the current Tobge Afede – led board is running the club down, hence the current state of the club must be laid at their doorsteps. Why a club like Hearts of Oak would be having a justify-your-inclusion exercise when the club should be purchasing quality players, beats my imagination.

A former chairman of the National Chapters Committee, Alhaji Akanbi and the club’s Administrative Manager, Hackman Aidoo say Hearts is far better off today than years ago. But a staunch supporter of the club, Aziz Haruna Futa, called them ‘disgraceful’ for saying that. Aziz says though he supports the floatation of shares in the club, he regret supporting the floatation exercise.

Alhaji Akanbi reveals that the board chairman is ready to relinquish his post if his money is refunded to him. He said the people of the Volta Region, are not happy with the level of insults been rained on Togbe Afede XIV.

Another issue is with the Pobiman pitch, where the new coach, Kenichi Yatsuhashi declined the team training on the pitch. The club is currently training at the Police Depot at Tesano. The players boycotted training some weeks back, due to unpaid salaries for three months.

Opinions are diverse and minds abound, so some of us are of the opinion that at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, that these issues can be solved if all the old guards and the new guards come together with a common vision to nipping these problems in the bud.

Is the mighty Oak tree dying?

Why are the new guys failing?

Must the old guards be brought back?

No, this is not the Accra Hearts of Oak of yesterday.

Let us rise and re-plant the mighty Oak tree.

PHOBIA, THE BEST!!!!
