Ex-Hearts official Mohammed Alhassan has launched an astonishing verbal attack on Alhaji Akanbi, labeling him a ‘fool, idiot, stupid and ignorant’ person who lacks the intelligence to serve on the club’s board.
Alhassan, a former Organiser of the National Chapters Committee, is livid with Akanbi’s continuous stay on the board and ripped him apart as an ‘ignorant fool’ who lacks the knowledge, expertise and know-how to contribute positively to the growth of the crisis-hit club.
Hearts are in financial turmoil amid a transfer window which has remained silent as fans continue to grow apprehensive ahead of the start of the new season.
The club appears to be in self-denial with constant threats of player boycott over unpaid salaries running into several months hitting the Accra side few weeks ago.
The board has largely come under line of fire for their poor handling of the club and former Hearts official Mohammed Alhassan has been enraged by the continuous stay of Akanbi on the board, claiming he lacks the personality to serve on the second highest decision body of the club.
‘If you have someone like Akanbi on the board, what do you expects? He is a big idiot and a fool who know next to nothing about football management’, he fumed on Accra-based Atinka FM
‘Such an ignorant individual sits on a board of a big club like Hearts of Oak? It’s a sad commentary.
‘He wakes up every day to insult supporters that they are unintelligent. What does he know about football management?
‘People like Akanbi should be sacked from the board. He has done nothing for the club. He simply lacks the intelligence to serve on such a board.’
In the midst of the brewing storm, officials insist the club will challenge for the Premier League crown this term.
