Hearts News is reporting that Accra Hearts of oak won’t be signing Tom Strand as the new head coach of the club as has been anticipated in the press in recent months.

The Swede was heavily tipped to become the new coach of the Phobians, but negotiations over a deal have fallen through therefore making it impossible for a contract to be signed.

The club ended its chase for the Medeama SC head coach over the weekend after failing to reach an amicable agreement over l terms.

Hearts of Oak been without a substantive head coach since the departure of Herbert Addo in the latter stages of the 2014-15 football season.

With the players reporting for pre-season training this week, fans were expecting a new helmsman to be named to take the boys through that preparation, but that announcement will have to be on hold for man

The Hearts of Oak management could not reach any financial agreement with Coach Tom Strand who was given permission by his club to speak to the Phobians about the possibility of becoming the new technical head.

However the demands of the coach and that of Medeama SC were beyond the set for by Hearts of Oak management and that has been the catalyst for the breakdown in negotiations.

The information of Hearts news is that Coach Tom Strand and his team were not willing to lower their demands to meet that of Hearts of Oak. Medeama’s request was beyond what Hearts had budgeted for.

Hearts works on a closely knit budget and its financial position in any time is looked at carefully before any decision is made as it is not prepared to throw ‘money around’ as has been done by some clubs in World football.

The management told Hearts News that they are not relenting in their efforts to announce a new head coach for the club in the few days and has urged all fans to keep faith with them as they seek to turn around the fortunes of the club.

That announcement is expected to be made this week with management hinting that they have a clear idea of who they want as the next coach of the club and whose financial demands will fall in line with the budget of the club for the coming season.
