Hearts of Oak threatens FA

Ghana premier league giants Accra Hearts of Oak, has threatened the Ghana Football association (GFA), with a legal action if the Review Committee of the FA does not restore their deducted points.

A board member of the club, Nyaho Tamakloe, says the FA's Appeals Committee's decision to restore Kotoko's docked points will be stiffly opposed, if the decision is not turned in their favour.

According to the former FA chief, the club will not take the decision lightly if the points are not restored them.

"Let me just sound one warning, if the decision of the review panel doesn't go in our favour, we will go to court the law court, because the myth surrounding football matters not going to court has been broken at FIFA itself. We will go to court if the decision is not reversed".

The Appeals Committee of the FA, on Tuesday restored Kotoko's six points deducted for supposedly using an unqualified player against Hearts of Oak.

The Appeals Committee's decision stems from the fact that, the accused player, Obed Owusu, had served his suspension in the Elite Cup game against Dunkwa United. Thus the decision to fine Kotoko a sum of GHc 5000 for losing the case at the Disciplinary Committee, has also been rescinded.

The latest decision sees the Porcupine Warriors, climbing up the log to the second position behind Ashgold, with 48 points from 30 games, while Hearts moves down to the 13th position with 40 points from 30 games.
