Wa All Stars and Black Meteors goalkeeper, Richard Ofori could be set for a big move to the Accra, after Hearts of Oak opened talks with the player’s agent, Sportscrusader.com has gathered.
Ofori has been at the Wa Park for his entire senior career, but with his contract due to expire at the end of this season has prompted the Phobians to plot a move for the young goal tender, believed to be on of the best in the domestic scene.
Sportscrusader.com sources say Ofori has been on Hearts of Oak’s shortlist of keepers, along with WAFA’s Felix Annan, in a scheme to find a long term replacement for the ageing Soulama Abdoulaye.
“Ofori has been at Wa All Stars for a long time and he himself wants a new challenge and so don’t be surprised if he makes the move”, A source at WA All stars told revealed.
“His agent is based in Accra and I’m well informed that he has met Hearts of Oak on countless occasions about a move but it looks likely he will join Hearts”.
“Right now he has some months on his contract and it has prompted Hearts to bid for him at this moment when they need a top class goalkeeper of his stature”, He added
The Ghana U-23 goalkeeper has received his second call up to train with the Black Stars ahead of the 2017 AFCON qualifying match against Rwanda on September 5.
He has been impressive for the Black Meteors as he helped the team seal qualification to the All African Games to be staged in Congo.
