Hearts of Oak players have been rewarded for progressing to the round of eight of the Caf Confederation Cup.
Each player will receive $200 for their contribution to the team’s brilliant performance against Senegalese side Olympique de Ngor in the round of 16 return leg on Saturday in M’Bour.
The Phobians defeated Ngor 3-2 to qualify on a 5-3 aggregate having carried off the first leg in Accra on 2-1.
“Great performance from my team and I must say they have really made me proud for qualifying to the next stage of the competition,” coach Herbert Addo told reporters.
“This is what I expect from my players and I hope we can build on this performance going forward in the competition and the league as well.”
The players were promised the amount during their final week of training ahead of the continental assignment, according to Addo.
“The players deserve it and we must also congratulate management for their support because without them we can’t move on as a club,” he added.
“This will go a long way to motivate them knowing very well that if they do win games gestures of this nature will come.”
Hearts of Oak will face Malian outfit AC Djoliba de Bamako in the round of eight the Caf Confederation Cup.
