Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak have expressed their concern and best wishes to former goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye, who is reported to be in critical condition in his hometown.
The Burkinabe international was reported to have been hospitalized in Bafora, Burkina Faso with an eye infection.
Below is the club’s statement:
We have been informed that our former keeper Soulama Aboulaye is not well in his home country.
The Burkinabe international served us diligently and admirably for two seasons.
Soulama had joined us from arch-rivals Kotoko, with whom he had a stellar and trophy-laden seven years, but he soon won over our fans with his commitment and performance.
The goalkeeper was our safest pair of hands in the 2014/15 season and he’s one of our best performers in the CAF Confederation Cup in his debut season.
Soulama’s two-year contract came to an end at the beginning of the 2016/17 season and he left for his home country.
We have received news of his health and we wish to extend our prayers and thoughts to his family.
We pray that Soulama gets back on his feet and may God almighty restore his health.
