Premier division side Accra Hearts of Oak have purchased eleven new players at a cost of GHC 500,000.
According to the PRO of the glorious club, Muheed, the players were recommended by coach Herbert Addo and they are expected to change the fortunes of the once dreaded African club champions that has not won laurels in the past five years.
The players are made up of experienced Burkinabe international goal keeper Soulama, formerly of Asante Kotoko who landed on the Hearts camp through a free transfer, the national under 20 goalie, defenders, midfielders and strikers.
Meanwhile, many fans of Accra Hearts of Oak are shocked on the number of players signed for 2015 and wondered what happened to the players who competed in the previous year. The fans were sad that one top player in the name of Ivorien Ahmed Toure who came to Accra to train and feature in a Top 4 game for the club slipped through the hands of management to rejoin rivals Asante Kotoko. Top official of the club, Alhaji Sulaiman Braima aka Alhaji Hearts and chief supporter Aziz Haruna Futah are some of the fans of Hearts who openly criticized the management of the club for losing Toure. But the club’s PRO has assured that all would be well and Hearts are going to be champions again. He noted that the league needs some investments, professionalism and honesty. Accra Hearts of Oak would be outdooring their new players and a new managing director soon.
