Accra Hearts of Oak beat a Tema select side of premier league players 7-1 in a one-sided friendly match played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts, using the occasion to prepare for the ABC knock out final and Africa Champions league final were very impressive. Hearts could have doubled the score line if they had converted most of the chances they created kicked off with most of their first team players on the bench.

They dominated their opponents and pinned them to their area forcing the Tema boys to rely on occasional breaks that ended nowhere. Kenneth Sarpong opened the floodgates in the 25th when he stabbed in a cut back from Osei Kuffour. Emmanuel Adjogu made it two in the 30th minute through a similar move from Osei Kuffour.

The Tema side pulled one back in the 38th minute as Kwabina Boateng of Ghapoha fame was upended in the box by Steven Tetteh for the a penalty which was converted by former Okwawu United's Nii Ayi Welbeck.

As the first half was drawing to a close, Osumanu Amadu stretched Hearts' lead in the 42nd minute when he nodded in a corner kick from Emmanuel Adjogu to end the first half. After recess, Hearts brought on players like Ishmael Addo, Charles Taylor, Ali Kwame and Adjah Tetteh which brought more fire into their attack as Ishmael run riot, scoring three goals in the 48th, 60th and 74th minutes.

The seventh goal of the game came in the 78th minute when hard-pressed goalkeeper Tetteh in post for Tema in an effort to stop a back pass, rather headed the ball into his own net. -
