Hearts of Oak striker Foovi Aguidi says he wants to start the 2016 season in the same rich vein of form he ended last season.
The Togolese striker took a lot of time to acclimatize to the Ghana Premier League after his move from Burkina Faso side Santos to Accra Hearts of Oak.
He exploded in the second round to lead Hearts to safety in the 2015 league season and his rich vein of form helped him to get a call into the Togo national team.
Foovi was amongst a small number of Hearts players to score in the league, FA Cup, and the CAF Confederation Cup in the 2014/15 season.
Though the bunch of his seven goal tally for the 2015 season came in the second round, Foovi says he wants to start scoring as early as possible this season.
"You know last year, it took me a long time to get my first goal for Hearts," Foovi confessed in an interview with accraheartsofoak.com.
"I scored in the FA Cup against Bolgatanga ManCity and in the Confederation Cup against Olympique Ngor. But I could not score in the league. "I think my first league goal came in the second round against Ashgold; but once I got off the mark in the league, things became easier for me and the goals started coming.
"I don't want to say I will score 10 or 20 goals in the season but I want to score more goals in the first round than I did in the whole of last season.
"I am working hard to do that and I believe with the prayer of the fans and help from my teammates, I can start this season better than I did last year."
He added: "I can improve more and I am challenging myself to start scoring goals early in the season to help the club and make our fans happy."
