Hearts of Oak will commemorate the 10th anniversary of its CAF Confederations Cup triumph at the club’s secretariat in Asylum Down, Accra, on Friday morning.
Members of the 2005 CAF Confederations Cup winning team including Captain Yaw Amankwa Mireku, ex-star player Bernard Dong Bortey and Lawrence Adjah Tetteh will be present at the event that starts at 10:00 GMT.
The Phobians clinched the maiden CAF Confederations Cup trophy in January 2005 after securing a 9-8 win over arch-rivals Asante Kotoko on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Charles Taylor opened the scoring for Kotoko in the 51st minute of regulation time but Lawrence Adjah Tetteh netted the much needed equalizer in the 80th minute to force the match into penalty shootout.
Hearts of Oak confirmed their participation for this year’s CAF Confederations Cup after Heart of Lions pulled out.
