Communications Director of Hearts of Oak Kwame Opare Addo has told under-performing players to improve their performance or face the axe.

The Phobians are enduring a torrid season in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League and have amassed 15 points from 11 matches.

Joshua Otoo, Evans Quao, goalkeeper Theophilus Jackson and Cosmos Dauda were released by the club last week by for non-performance and Opare Addo has issued a deliberate warning to the rest of the players to expect more if the performance keeps dwindling.

"Ones you're a worker of Hearts of Oak, whether you're a player or a technical person, we all have to lift our professional standards up to meet the level that is expected so that we can move the club up and everybody is very much aware of this," he said.

"We had a meeting, everybody was told we had to lift our professional standards up so that we can move the club forward as we all accepted." Opare told Kumasi based Luv FM.
