Ghanaian midfielder, Michael Helegbe scored the match winner to push Tripoli SC to a 1-0 win over Shabab Al Ghaziye in the Alfa Lebanese Cup quarter-final game on Sunday.
The former Guingamp and Asante Kotoko player struck from 40-yards in the 82nd minute to decide the tie.
The 29-year-old’s goal means Tripoli SC can now prepare to face Al Ansar in the semi-final of the Alfa Lebanese Cup in the next three weeks.
Aside securing 14 goals in 11 league games for Tripoli SC, Helegbe has now scored 1 goal in 2 Cup appearances for the club.
The victory is a morale booster for Tripoli SC ahead of the second round of the Lebanese Premier League, which starts next week.
