Chairperson of the Black Queens Management Committee, Leanier Addy has stated that government support is very necessary for the development of the other national teams.

A lot of football pundits have suggested that the Ghana Football Association should use the Black Stars brand to seek for sponsorship for the other national football teams in the country, but the former Black Queens player believes it should be the opposite.

Madam Addy has rejected the calls that the Black Stars brand must be carried along the other national teams stating that the Sports ministry must fulfill its internal obligation by making sure that from the Black Stars gate proceeds, 5% should be given to the FA to develop youth football and women football.

Speaking during the Congress of the Ghana FA, Madam Addy said We must ensure that at least some small amount of money is allocated to the FA from the gate proceeds of the Black Stars matches.

Even if 5%, that will be very good for the development of the game. We must not rely on only the Black Stars as a brand for all the other national teams. It will not help us, she added.
