Heman zone - champions in school U-15 sports festival

Twifo Praso (C/R) July 22, GNA - Twifo-Heman zone gathered 23 points to emerge the over-all champions in the Twifo-Heman-Lower Denkyira Basic Schools Under-15 sports festival held at Praso on Wednesday.

The Zone came first in soccer, athletics, volleyball boys and girls and took the third position in the netball event. Praso Zone took the second position with 31 points followed by Wawase zone with 35 points while Jukwa Zone came fourth with 42 points. Twifo Agona Zone took the fifth position with 44 points followed by Twifo Mampong zone at the sixth position with 50 points, Wamaso zone seventh with 56 points, Hasowodze zone eighth with 58 points, Nyinase zone was ninth with 60 points while Nuamakrom zone took the last position with 61 points.

Mr Abraham Odoom, the District Chief Executive, who presented certificates to deserving athletes appealed to them to train harder to bring laurels to the District in the forth coming Inter District Sports Festival to be held at Agona Swedru.

Mr Knight Acquah, the District Physical Education Organiser commended the management of Twifo Oil Palm Plantation (TOPP) for sponsoring the festival and appealed to other organisations to emulate their example.
