President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), Hebert Mensah has expressed his frustration at the current Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) over their delay to kick-start the process towards an electoral congress slated for November 5 this year.
22 federation heads have signed a petition for an immediate congress which they claim was part of the resolution of November 2, 2013 which was passed to extend their term of office for a further period.
In an interview with an Accra based station,Happy Fm, the former CEO of Kumasi Asante Kotoko said; “Well I think the petition is self evident, and also a level of mistrust, and I must say I support the petition which has been signed by 22 federations, which clearly is a notion of ‘a vote of no confidence’ in the current administration.
Mr. Mensah also reiterated how the image of the GOC has been tarnished over the period, adding; “And if I were part of the current administration, we’d be really looking into this recent happening and rethink on how to improve things.”
He also advised the current administration to be proactive and resolve the issues at hand with regards to the huge number of federation heads involved, thus to either call for an early congress, resign or show humility which has been missing since they assumed office.
