I congratulate Mr Kwasi Nyantakyi on his election as a member of the highest decision-making body in the world of football; FIFA council.
Although it may seem a personal success, I know and believe it has elevated the image of Ghana and our representation at the highest decision-making body of the game we all love passionately.
It is my prayer that your presence will affect Ghana football positively and will also pave the way for other Ghanaians in the administration of football at the highest levels.
I know we may not immediately see the benefits of this accomplishment but surely with time we will all come to embrace the fact that it is indeed a win for Ghana just as other individuals through their personal accomplishments sold mother Ghana on the world stage and kept the name on the lips of all and sundry.
I also hope and pray that this feel-good-factor of Mr. Nyantakyi’s accomplishment will be the tonic we have all been waiting for to cure the bad blood between the Ghana Football hierarchy and the Sports Ministry in order to forge ahead to achieve more for mother Ghana.
Football and sports as a whole need a major lift in the country, and this should not be compromised for any personal wound. There are obvious problems with the development of football in the country, but it is not a hopeless situation. All we need is an all hands on deck approach.
Let Ghana sports win. Let us use this feat to focus on the big thing.
