Honeymoon Stars FC wins Kyirapatre Easter gala.

Kumasi-based division two side, Honeymoon Stars FC say they are poised for action towards taking the regional division two league by storm towards qualifying to the Division One next season.

This, the management believes is possible because the club, owned by Latex Foam Rubber Products limited and coached by former African Footballer of the year, Golden Boy Abdul Razak, on its formation, has been able to unearth and develop hidden but talented players, highly motivated to keenly compete in the ensuing league which commence over the weekend.

The Kumasi Branch Manager of Latex Foam, Mr. Chadrawy Walid, gave the assurance after the club lifted the Annual Kyirapatre Easter Gala Trophy last weekend.

“Apart from playing in the division two league, we are also committed to raising and tendering young and talented players to augment the efforts of the Ghana Football Association in helping strengthen the future of Ghana football”. He said.

Formed in April last year, the Kyirapatre-based team which started with 20 armature players, has won most of the corporate invitational games in the garden city.

“As a company team, Honeymoon Stars FC has won major events including, the Ashanti Olympic Games, the Luv FM Invitational tournament and the Boss FM Republic Day Invitational tournaments amongst others”. Mr. Walid said.

“Winning the Kyirapatre Annual Gala is an icing on the cake and this final trophy before the commencement of the league is but the biggest motivation for the club ahead of the start of the league” He added.

Team Manager Mr. Vincent Akutsah was full of praise for the players for the successive achievements achieved so far.

“This trophy is very crucial to our course. Especially since it’s the last trophy before the league kick starts”. He said.

Mr. Akutsah who is also the Deputy Chief Accountant at Latex Foam Rubber Products Limited, added that, “winning such trophies only indicates how strong the club has become”

Latex Foam acquired division one side, Nana Adu Gyamfi FC and through the assistance of the Ashanti Regional Ghana Football Association, changed the name to Honeymoon Stars FC.

The club since its inception has played many high profile friendly matches including Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, Ashanti gold SC, New Edubiase United, Asokwa Deportivo and Asokwa Warriors amongst others.

The 15 clubs which participated in the Annual Kyirapatre Easter Gala include, GIHOC Babies, Kyirapatre Estates, Ramseyer, Academy Boys and Kyirapatre Old town.

The rest are, True love, Pole Akye, Figos, Mastello, Tigo babe, Manhaamo, Airtel Babes and Tumantu Stars.

Players are motivated by receiving winning bonuses, salaries, best players after every training session are given cash incentive, whiles registered players are given employment by Latex Foam Rubber Products Limited.

Its home jerseys are dominant blue with white stripes with away colors with dominant red with white stripes while All White over red hose with blue stripes is its neutral jersey.

The ambitious club which aims at qualifying to the premier league in the next 3 years is sponsored by Latex Foam Rubber Products Limited who are also sponsors of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, Asokwa Deportivo and the Senior National team, the Black Star
