Footy-ghana.com can reveal that players of relegated Real Tamale United almost boycotted the match day 24 Premier League clash with Tema Youth over unpaid salaries and allowances.

According to our sources, the relegated side, which has lost all its games in the second round so far, now has only 15 first team players left in camp, with majority of the players deserting the club.

Footy-ghana.com can confirm that the players left in camp refused to travel to Tema unless some of their arrears were paid.

This action, according to our sources, prompted officials to pay some part of the players’ arrears, but it resulted in the team arriving in Tema on Sunday morning, just a few hours before the match.

RTU now holds the infamous record of having the longest winless run in Ghana’s top flight, having failed to win in 25 matches so far this season.

The beleaguered side will face title chasing Medeama SC in Tarkwa tomorrow.
