AshantiGold SC Chief Executive Cudjoe Fianoo has called on the media to intensify the hype they give to local league matches and not dwell much on negatives.
He made the call during the two-day 22nd Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association which took place at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.
In a summary statement addressed to the Executive Committee members of the Ghana FA, Fianoo noted the relevance of the media in drawing fans and supporters to the stadium.
He added that the media must also do well to dwell much more on hyping the matches to induce fans to go and watch matches rather than painting negative pictures about our game.
We also saw that the media is a major stakeholder which needs to be empowered. The media must therefore hype matches for supporters to come to the stadium, Fianoo said.
It is also important for the media to know that the negative pictures the paint about the league pulls people away from watching our own matches. It is therefore important for the media to give positive images about the league to increase spectatoring, he added.
