Black Stars goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda, has been a subject of discussion in the media due to his inactivity at Orlando Pirates.

Since his move in the summer, Dauda has gone into competition with 26-year-old first-choice goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, and 22-year-old second-choice Brighton Mhlongo.

Being the main goalkeeper for the national team, concerns have been raised about his 'rustiness' and lack of play time. But Fatau maintains that he still keeps active with his training.

"People talk. But what they do not know is that I continue to train and work hard. I do not play at Pirates. I know that is not the best. But I am always training."

28-year-old Dauda had reportedly requested to move out on loan. An Administrator at Orlando Pirates, Floyd Mbele told KickOff that the club does not intend to let go of him. Fatau confirms this.

"It's true. My team do not want me to leave the club on loan. They have assured me that they have plans for me.

"I hear the comments. But I use them to challenge myself. This is a trying moment but its football. These things happen. The difference with me is that I know that when I rise from these challenges, I will be even better."
