Deputy captain of the Ghana Black Stars André Morgan Rami Ayew has said he’s not in a rush to take over the captaincy of the senior National Team.
According to the Swansea striker, who at youth level starred for and captained the under-20 team that won both the 2009 African Youth Championship and the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup, he’s bidding his time for the huge position.
Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr FM, André Morgan Rami Ayew stated that he’s taking his time to understudy the few senior players who are in the team in order to carry on the team when these seniors have exited the team.
” Next year, 2017 will be my tenth year in the Black Stars, I’ve stayed very long in the team and have captained before when Asamoah Gyan was not around; he’s grooming me to be ready to take over from him when he’s no more in the team. I have an excellent relationship with him, and I’ve learnt to work together with him for the best of the nation and the team.”
