Under fire young athlete Martha Bissah has denied reports that she rejected a scholarship to further her education in the US.

Bissah, Ghana’s first Olympic gold medalist, said she is willing to accept any scholarship from President John Mahama or the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA).

“We don’t have good facilities here, in Ghana, so wherever there are adequate facilities to improve my sports career, I will go,” Bissah told Infoboxdaily.

The 800m sprinter confirmed being approached by the Association about a scholarship to a community college in the USA, but asked for some time to sleep over it since she was just returning from the Olympics in China.

Bissah claimed no one has since contacted her.

“I want to further my education and combine it with my sport activities. I want to go to any school that will offer me admission. I am ready for any course that will be offered me, if I get the opportunity to enter the university,” Bissah noted.
