I established companies after my move to China - Asamoah Gyan

Former Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan has stated that his move to the Chinese Super League aided him to establish multiple businesses in Ghana.

Gyan admitted that deciding to move to China was challenging, and he sought advice from those close to him.

"I was advised to take the lucrative deal because they believed it was the best choice for me," Gyan explained.

"It was a tough decision, but after consulting with everyone around me, we concluded that it was the right move," he added.

Fortunately, the decision paid off, and Gyan was able to establish successful companies that provided employment opportunities for Ghanaians.

In 2015, Asamoah Gyan joined the Chinese Super League by signing with Shanghai SIPG on a two-year contract with a weekly salary of £227,000.

As one of the highest-paid players in Africa, Gyan's move to China was significant for the league, which had been making substantial investments to drive its growth.

Prior to his time in China, Gyan was the highest-paid African footballer while playing in the UAE. His salary increased to £225,000 per week after joining Shanghai Shenhua in 2015.

The retired footballer is reported to own various businesses, including real estate, hostels (an extension of his real estate ventures), transportation services, Paradise Pac Water, and Baby Jet Boxing Promotion, among others.
