Mohammed Polo feels vindicated after earning the praise from Hearts of Oak’s board chairman Togbe Afede XIV as the best coach under his regime.

The former Black Stars playmaker presided over one of the most troubled stints in the club’s history after being appointed interim coach of the Phobians as a replacement for the highly popular David Duncan.

Polo, however, failed to achieve consistent results to see his relationship with the fans deteriorate.

But the club’s board chairman Togbe Afede XIV told shareholders at a meeting on Wednesday the club legend would have been an immense success if he has been given more time and room to work – a statement Polo sees as a vindication of the quality of work he put in during his brief stint with the side.

“I have been vindicated today,” he told Montie FM.

“It gives me a lot of joy that an eminent person as him [Togbe Afede XIV] has recognized the good work I did for Hearts of Oak.

"I would want to thank him and thus proves that I am still one of the best coaches in the country."

Mohammed Polo has since been without a club since leaving Hearts at the end of the 2013/14 season.

He was eventually replaced by Herbert Addo who also departed midway into last season’s campaign over poor results.
