I'm a Kotoko fan and will compose a song for them soon - Kuami Eugene

Kuami Eugene is set to add to Asante Kotoko’s repertoire of songs after announcing plans of composing a new track for the Porcupines

The award-winning musician on Monday morning joined the team at their base in Accra to celebrate their victory over rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.

Kuami Eugene entertained the players of Kotoko who were living the moment of their win over Hearts.

Eugene and the players sang and chanted some of his songs after which he took photos with some of them.

Eugene was also seen having heartwarming conversations with coach Maxwell Konadu who afterwards urged him to visit the team in Kumasi and perform at one of their home games.

The ‘Rock Star’ told ghanaweb.com in an interview that he has been a lifelong Kotoko fan and has been following the team’s exploit.

Eugene said that the he was blown away by yesterday’s 2-1 victory over Hearts and had to visit them to show his love and appreciation.

Quizzed on whether he will ‘bless’ the Porcupines with a new song, Eugene replied ‘It’s very possible, I will do a song for Kotoko because I love this club’.

He also revealed plans of watching some of Kotoko’s home matches in Kumasi.

“I was born into Kotoko and I have been part of the club since I was a kid. I have been 100% impressed with their performance this season and that’s why I’m here this morning to give them some vim for their next matches. I’m a Kotoko fan and will tell the players to keep pushing. Their next home match, I will probably be around. It is 100% possible that I will do a song for Kotoko”.



Meanwhile the club has left Accra to Kumasi where preparations for their next home game will begin on Tuesday, January 28.

According to the club’s PRO, training will resume tomorrow. Kotoko will face Liberty Professionals at the Baba Yara Stadium on February 2.
