Executive Chairman, Dr. Kwame Kyei has for the first time since his appointment opened up on developments in the club. He says he has so much to do for Kotoko and would therefore need the support of all who have the club at heart.

In an address to National Circles Council (NCC) leaders in Kumasi, the Executive Chairman rejected claims about his silence and how it was perceived to be hurting the club.

“They’ve said I don’t talk; they’ve not heard from me [but] the work isn’t about talking. When you’re given work to do, you’ve your target” said the Chairman as he explained why he’s been quiet since November 2016.

He mentioned how too much commentary on Kotoko managerial changes often affect the peace and unity the club needs, arguing that he could have painted a gloomy picture to fans after his appointment but that would have created needless tension because the state of affairs wasn’t as good as some had assumed.

“When I came, I could’ve let you know that things weren’t good. If things weren’t bad, I wouldn’t have been called to come in. I’m now going to re-organise things” he said, while asking for supporters’ patience for himself and his Management.

Portions of the 14-minute address have been published in Friday’s Kotoko Express. Other aspects of the address which touches on his plans for the club would be published in subsequent editions of the paper.
