Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has expressed his gratitude to the club after extending his contract for two more years with Anderlecht.
The Belgium Pro League giants announced that the Black Stars man’s contract will now run until 2027 after the latest renewal on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old was buzzing to get his stay extended after playing with Anderlecht for the past three seasons since joining from Red Bull Salzburg.
“In the last three seasons at RSC Anderlecht, I have grown as a player and as a person. I’m very grateful to both the club and the fans for their continued support over the past years,” Ashimeru told the club's official website.
Majeed Ashimeru, who had one year remaining on his existing contract, opted to extend his stay despite interest elsewhere.
He arrived at Anderlecht in 2021 from RB Salzburg for a reported fee of €1.5 million.
His new contract, securing him until 2027, reflects Anderlecht's commitment to building around his talents.
Despite injury setbacks limiting his appearances to 12 last season, Ashimeru has made a significant impact since joining, amassing over 100 appearances and becoming a linchpin in midfield
