Ghana international Daniel Opare has rubbished claims that he is an aggressive player following his red card against Anderlecht.
The Standard Liege defender received two yellow cards and got sent off in the 58th minute in the crunch game which ended 1-1.
“I'm not an aggressive player. On my second card, I played the ball and when the opponent saw me coming he moved deliberately so that I touch him,” the defender said after the game.
“I was afraid we would lose because of me but it was the referee who destroyed the game.”
Opare joined Liege from Real Madrid Castilla in 2010 and has so far played 65 games netting a goal.
