Ghana youth striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom is optimistic his goal scoring prowess at Sassuolo could end him a shock Nations Cup call-up.

The 19-year-old scored his fourth goal of the campaign with the screamer in their 1-0 success over Grosseto with some excellent foot works.

The former Ghana Under-20 marksman wants to continue with his impressive performances hoping he will catch the eyes of Serbian trainer Goran Stevanovic.

“It will be a dream to play for my country at the 2012 African Cup of Nations and that’s why I’m working so hard in my team” Boakye-Yiadom said.

“I believe the coach will expand his band of monitoring wide so that all will be given fair opportunity to impress him or otherwise”

“I am happy with how am progressing at Sassuolo and I believe when I get the chance, I won’t disappoint”

With Asamoah Gyan identified as the only out-an-out striker in the current set-up, the enterprising forward could be considered by Stevanovic.

Boakye-Yiadom is owned by Genoa but has been sent to the second-tier league for more playing time.
