A season sports journalist in Techiman in the Brong Aghafo Region Nana Ernest Acheampong aka Nana Kalakuuta has admitted to have received some monies from minister of youth and sports during South Africa World Cup.

According to the T echiman based Sports Commentator who was adjudged second best Akan commentator in Asahanti Region in 2008 he admitted to Classic Sports that the Minister gave the money twice in far away South Africa during press conferences .

Even though Nana Kalakuuta did not mentioned the quantum of the amount he received but revealed that some Ghanaian sports journalists also benefited from the packaged.

Ghana’s sports minister Akua Sena Dansoa is under pressure to name the journalists she claims received US$50,000 as part of the country’s World Cup media relations budget.

Dansoa told Parliament last week, that government spent $7.2 million dollars on Ghana’s contingent to the World Cup including expenses on the media.

But fears are rising that the money was diverted for personal use as most of the journalists who travelled for the tournament have denied receiving any money. If she is found to have deceived Parliament over the said money, she could be impeached and prosecuted.

A renowned sports journalist at E-TV in Accra, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah in an interview with Citi FM dismissed the claims saying he did not receive any money from the Ministry of Sports or from any official from the FA.

Nana Ernest Acheampong appealed to his colleague journalists to come out and admits to relieve the Minister from growing pressure.
