He who builds his mansion with stones thrown at him ends up building the strongest mansion that no one can pull down,” quotes English actor, Jason Statham who is well known for his lead roles in the Transporter series, The Italian Job, The Bank Job & Crank respectively. This is in reference to Kumasi Asante Kotoko's goal-getter Kwadwo Poku, who says little can the stories making rounds have any impact on him despite the current negative media attention surrounding him. In an interview with 90 Minutes, the ex- FC Midtjylland of Denmark player said he was ready to see through his contract with the Porcupine Warriors despite his fall-out with the club's management after the hullabaloo surrounding his sending off against JS Kabylie in Algeria. He said “I love Kotoko and I'm ready to serve this great team with all my heart and intend to stay with this great club that made me famous.”

Kwadwo, who is allegedly facing four counts of disciplinary charges brought against him by the club's management, says he has not been treated fairly by the media and other personalities from certain quarters but is ever ready to defend the Kotoko colours whenever he's called upon. “As you are aware, certain media men have not given me a fair treatment when this case came up but such is life. I don't want to dwell on what has been said or done but I want to apologize to the Kotoko family and the management as well as the fans. I have officially written to Manhyia and sent an apology letter to the head of the Kotoko management. I also want to render an unqualified apology to my team mates as well as the technical team and wish them well in their upcoming fixture against Etoile du Sahel.”

Kwadwo, whose rich vein of form has earned him another deserving call-up to the Black Stars in the must win game against Lesotho in Sekondi was optimistic of the Stars chances come October 11. He said “I have no doubts about our chances since this will be a do or die affair at Sekondi. If the kind of unity and commitment I witnessed in camp in our game against Libya is anything to go by, then surely we will come out victors.” Casting his mind back to Ghana's game against the Libyans, he continued: “Each player in camp for the Libyan game showed a great sense of urgency in preparation towards the game but in football, you either lose, win or draw. We hope to go the extra mile this time and get the three points since it is every player's dream to play at the highest level (Angola 2010/South Africa 2010).” Whether being the Stars lead striker or watching the game from the bench is not an issue for the 23yr old striker as he believes anyone coach Milovan Rajevac parades in his first eleven will play his heart out for Ghana against The Crocodiles. “The coach makes up his team as well as the tactics. Whether I'll be playing or not is not an issue since I believe whoever the coach selects for the game will give his maximum best for a deserving win” he concluded.
