Former Black Stars and Asante Kotoko defender, James Kwesi Appiah has validated claims and assertions which seems to suggest that playing for Kumasi Asante Kotoko is relatively difficult than playing for other Premier League clubs.

According to the current Black Stars coach, who played for the Porcupines warriors between 1983 to 1993 , it was not always smooth sailing playing for the Porcupine Warriors as he usually had to visit the washroom on several occasions during match days.

"I used to enter the washroom three times before games because of the enormous pressure on our shoulders to win the game. I quickly psyched myself and inculcate boldness in order to excel in matches played both home and away," he told the Kumasi based Light FM.

Appiah said despite the pressure that playing for Kotoko comes with it was one of the best times of his career. He advised the current crop of Asante Kotoko players to truly embrace the challenge in order to succeed at the club.

"The current crop of players should adopt a strategy which works for them in terms of dealing with the pressure and know the reason for playing for the club and what they want to achieve," he admonished.
