Ernest Sowah has set a target to earn back his place in the Black Stars team, after joining his new club Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
The former Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper joined the Kumasi outfit on a free transfer from Don Bosco in Congo Brazzaville.
Although Ernest Sowah faces great competition at Kotoko from Eric Ofori Antwi, Joseph Addo, Isaac Amoako and Felix Annan, he expressed his optimistic to break into the starting line-up of David Duncan.
He was part of the Black Stars team that finished as runners-up in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) staged in Equatorial Guinea, but has since missed out of Coach Avram Grant’s call-ups.
And Ernest Sowah is eyeing a return to the Black Stars as he expects to feature consistently with the Porcupine Warriors to attract the attention of the coach of the senior national team.
“I was part of the Black Stars, but I have not earned a call-up for some time now. However I believe I will earn back a place in the team through hard work,” he told Happy FM.
