Former Hearts of Oak superstar Bernard Don Bortey reckons he was a better footballer in his prime than 5-time Balon D’or winner and Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 35 year old revealed he harbored ambitions of becoming the World’s best footballer in his heyday.
"I was better than Cristiano Ronaldo in my prime. My ambition was to win the world best player award - Don Bortey said in an interview with Zylofon FM
Bortey enjoyed an illustrious nine-year spell at Hearts of Oak where he won four league titles as well as one Caf Confederations Cup trophy in 2004.
He emerged the league's joint-topscorer in 2001-02 season.
The tricky attacker was also capped twenty-seven times for Ghana’s senior national team, scoring nine times for the Black Stars.
